Did you know that President Garfield is the only assassinated president to not have his assassination spot marked?

Until recently, there was nothing explaining what happened on that fateful day.  

​

Currently, there are wayside signs, put up by the National Park Service on the National Mall side of the National Art Gallery, but the actual spot is not visible.

A group of dedicated people are working to change that.  Led by the James A. Garfield Civil War Round Table, efforts are in motion to erect a proper monument to commemorate the assassination of the 20th President.
